Heather Arthur never dreamt she’d be part of a picket line at the age of 75, but on Friday afternoon she was one of 35 protesters waving neon placards in downtown Waterdown.

The rally, held outside the office of MPP Ted McMeekin, was organized in response to an April announcement by Deb Matthews, minister of health and long-term care (a protest also took place outside her office in London). On Aug. 1, Ontario will change the model for physiotherapy services in long-term care centres.
